What we predict comes up

From the syllabus weighting and how the papers are usually set. The papers below follow it.

  1. Mechanics23%Mechanics (Newton's laws, momentum, vertical projectiles, work, energy and power) is about 63 to 70 of the 150 marks on Paper 1 in the DBE guidelines.
  2. Electricity and magnetism17%Electrostatics, circuits and electrodynamics together are about 50 to 55 marks on Paper 1.
  3. Organic chemistry16%Organic molecules (naming, isomers, physical properties and reactions) is about 45 to 55 marks on Paper 2.
  4. Rates of reaction and chemical equilibrium13%Reaction rates and equilibrium together are about 35 to 40 marks on Paper 2, usually one question each.
